My name is Dan Pitney and I live in Salem, Oregon.  I have been a bird breeder for over 30 years.  I have bred many types of canaries, finches, and small hookbills over the course of time.  For several years I specialized in Lady Gouldian, Star, Owl, and Parrot Finches.  

  However, I have now returned to breeding and showing my all time favorite.  BORDER CANARIES.  In my opinion nothing compares in beauty, temperament, and song to the Border canary.  I bred and showed Borders in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.  In am thrilled to be doing so again.

  The foundation of my stock I purchased from Tony Fiumerodo of Newbury Park, California. Tony is a well know breeder, exhibitor, and judge of Borders.  He has won 7 Kellog and Higgins Awards.  Hehas also won the Pat Scannel Award twice.  He won Best Border at the 2012 National Cage Bird Show.  I am deeply grateful to Tony for selling me several of his beautiful birds.  He has been a good friend and valued mentor.
